A New Chapter for the Coscorrón Sisters

Gustavo Roldán continues Toni Batllori’s legacy with fresh energy and humour.

Toni Batllori left us a brilliant legacy — one filled with bold lines, sharp humour, and unforgettable characters. Now, Gustavo Roldán picks up the baton to continue the adventures of the Coscorrón Sisters, created by Anna Cabezas. Roldán brings his own expressive style and playful vision, while staying true to the spirit of the series: a blend of irony, curiosity, and chaos led by three sleuthing sisters with more intuition than manners.

The Mystery of the Horror House

In their latest case, the Coscorrón Sisters are called in by the director of a newly installed amusement park. The attractions have been suffering mysterious power outages that leave more than just the lights flickering. As the sisters investigate, all clues seem to lead to the park’s haunted house — but the ghosts hiding inside aren’t the only thing to be afraid of…

Once again, nothing — and no one — escapes the Coscorróns’ keen eye and unconventional methods.

“Now that Toni Batllori has moved to a new neighbourhood, it’s my turn to take over the illustrations for the Coscorrón Sisters, written by Anna Cabezas. It’s been a big challenge — and a huge pleasure.

It’s always hard to step into the shoes of someone with such a strong artistic personality. But humour is something we shared. These stories are full of it, and Toni was a master of lightness and fun.

I could feel that joy in his drawings, and it gave me courage. When they asked me to start from scratch, with full creative freedom, I said yes immediately.

And as I worked, I could almost feel Toni winking at me from the other side, saying: ‘You’re going to have a great time, too.’”
