Carme Peris

Carme Peris studied at the Massana School in Barcelona and the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts. She began her career as a children’s illustrator in 1979. Her work has been exhibited at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BIB), as well as in Bratislava, Prague, Gothenburg, and the Otani Memorial Museum in Nishinomiya, Japan. She has served as president of Friends of IBBY and OEPLI. Peris has received numerous awards, including the 5th Best Edited Books Prize (Children’s and Young People’s category) in 1991, the Apel·les Mestres Prize in 1995, and the Serra d’Or Critics’ Prize.
