Carme Solé

Carme Solé Vendrell was born in 1944 in Barcelona. She studied painting at Escola Massana. She is famous around the world for her beautiful pictures in children’s books, and she also writes some of the stories herself.

Carme has won many important awards, like the National Illustration Prize (1978) and the National Culture Prize (2012). She also makes solo exhibitions of her paintings and sculptures about children and their rights.
